The Circles of Notre Dame for the Magnificat*
*to magnify God’s Love

We are called to magnify the love of God in our world.  The founder of the Congregation of Notre Dame, St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, saw in the Gospel story of the Visitation of Mary and Elizabeth, an icon of this calling. Her vision was that we live in Visitation Discipleship -- recognizing that we carry God’s life within us and that when we recognize that divine life in another we become good news for each other, for our times and for our world.

The joy that Mary experienced with her cousin Elizabeth caused her to proclaim a song known as the Magnificat from the Latin translation of its opening words. (My whole being magnifies the greatness of our God . . .) It is a prophetic vision of liberation – personal, moral, social and economic.  It is a way of magnifying God’s love in the world.  The Mission of Liberating Education at NDA is the Mission of the Magnificat.

Achieving the goals of our Mission would be impossible if not for the magnanimous contributions of donors, friends and family of Notre Dame Academy. Mission and money are soul twins – one cannot thrive with integrity without the other. Together they can be a very powerful force in the world.  Money can be a carrier, an instrument for our intentions, our values, our heart and our soul. At NDA, we invite you to “magnify God’s love in the world” by investing in our sacred Mission.

The Circles of Notre Dame reflect the ways we express the Magnificat in our world.
