What's New In Our Classrooms?

During the summer, the classrooms used for special subjects (computer and the arts) was refurbished. The computer lab has a different floor plan, 26 new computers with flat screen monitors installed on new computer tables. The classroom used for the arts (Art, Music and Spanish) was painted, a blackboard installed, and smaller student tables were moved into the room.

• First Move: Chess curriculum in Grades 2, 3 and 4 to develop strategic thinking skills
• Study Skills Assessment and Strategy Program - Grade 5
• St. John's University Junior Field Experience Partner: Student teachers work in small group setting in Grades 2-5
• Faculty Professional Development - Dr. Regina Mistretta, St. John's University, will model math teaching strategies for faculty members in PreK through Grade 8. Dr. Mistretta will also facilitate monthly grade level discussions on current Math topics.
