A Fun-Filled February at Notre Dame Academy

Catholic Schools Week

We closed out Catholic Schools Week 2021 with a rousing game of "Are you Smarter Than an 8th Grader?" The entire school tuned in on zoom, from their classrooms, and from home to watch the faculty compete against the 8th graders.

There were moments when the faculty took the lead, but in the end, the 8th grade triumphed, winning the game and proving what we already knew- our 8th grade is indeed very, very smart!

All of our students enjoyed giving back to our community with donations to various charitable organizations throughout the week, and in return, they were able to celebrate their own unique sense of style with Crazy Hair/Hat Day. They also enjoyed a Valentine-inspired school-wide game of Bingo.

We love our Catholic school!

Giving Day 2021

Giving Day 2021 was a huge success. Thank you so much to the 258 donors who helped us raise over $45,000 in just 24 hours. You proved it, that together we can do anything. We thank each and every one of you for taking the time to reflect on what Notre Dame means to you and for supporting our mission of providing a liberating education to girls and young women.

Sponsor a Gator-Community
Service Project

Launched during Catholic Schools Week, sixth-grader Ava Paone asked her fellow Gators to pledge to donate their time to helping others. Over 60 elementary school students have pledged to complete community service, from shoveling snow for neighbors, writing letters to those who are isolated, or collecting items to donate to local charities. During Giving Day 2021 donors sponsored the students with a donation honoring their commitment to helping others.

Love in Action Week
We hosted the 2nd annual Love in Action week, led by student groups to lend our collective voices to the conversations about compassionate understanding of diverse viewpoints. The Justice League and The Black Student Culture Club facilitated a vibrant discussion of Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman’s poem “The Hill We Climb” along with a school-wide reflection acknowledging in gratitude our collective experience and mutual hope for peace and social justice.

100th Day of School

We did it! And there’s plenty to celebrate at Notre Dame. Our Early Childhood students celebrated 100 days of school by wearing shirts decorated with 100 of their favorite things, including stickers, legos, pom poms, and even goldfish. The celebration of 100 days is truly special this year because our buildings were open for every single one of those 100 days. We are looking forward to continued success for the rest of the school year.
