EXTE-NDA AFTERSCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS LOGO
We are excited to introduce the Winter II extendNDA Course Catalog.  We offer a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities for all grade levels to extend their day At NDA.  There is a participation fee that we intentionally set at an affordable rate to allow for maximum participation.  The extendNDA Program is led by Justine Thompson, the After School Program Coordinator and will run for 6-weeks.
 
Please make note of the following:
  • Courses are offered on a first-come first-served basis.
  • The location of the course is on the NDA campus unless otherwise noted.
  • The exact session dates for each course are listed below.
  • Fees include a snack.
  • Pick-up is at 3:30 pm in front of the ES & ECC buildings.  Children are expected to be picked up promptly when the activities end.
  • Parents may designate the student to remain in AfterCare at the time the enrichment program ends. 
Mondays 2:15pm-2:45pm
Class Dates: 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22
Course Fee: $125 per 6 week session 
 
This introduction to Italian language course is a 30-minute class from 2:15 to 2:45 designed for PreK and Kindergarten students. Students will learn beginners Italian through singing, dancing and playing.

Class Dates: 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22
Course Fee: $125 per 6 week session
 
Mr. Tormey returns to continue his work with NDA musicians!  This class will introduce students to beginner level guitar technique. We are very excited to note that the guitars are provided thanks to a generous gift.  Our students can begin learning guitar techniques without the investment of buying the instrument themselves.  This class is limited and offered on a first-come first-served basis.

Dates: 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22
Course Fee: $80.00 per 6 week session
 
Join us for six weeks of homework help assisted by high school students.  Finish your homework at school while working with the guidance and support of a high school student's “big sister.”  Homework will be completed and checked before they leave school.
Tuesdays from 2:45pm - 3:30pm
Dates: 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23
Course Fee: $125.00 per 6 week session
 
In this class students will learn Yoga. It is a practice that connects the body, breath, and mind. It uses physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve overall health. This program will be taught by our very own Nnenna Podkalicki, the Assistant Principal of Notre Dame Academy High School!
Tuesdays 2:45pm-3:30pm
Class Dates: 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23
Course Fee: $125 per 6 week session
 
In this class, students will learn the basics of chess in a fun and non-competitive atmosphere.  Mrs. Malanga will guide the girls on how to move pieces and even use a chess clock.  They will learn basic chess strategies, openings, tactics, and problem-solving skills.
Wednesdays 2:15pm-2:45pm
Class Dates: 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24
Course Fee: $125 per 6 week session
 
Join us for six weeks of fun and movement in Ballet!  This course will give the children the opportunity to exercise and increase grace and self confidence while being introduced to basic ballet concepts.  This course will also allow the students to explore the fundamentals of ballet movement. Ballet is a 30 minute class from 2:15 to 2:45 and is designed for PreK students.

Class Dates: 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25
Course Fee: $125 per 6 week session 
 
This class will introduce students to beginner level guitar technique with a focus on older students. We are very excited to note that the instruments are provided thanks to a generous gift.  Students can begin learning Ukulele techniques without the investment of buying the instrument themselves.  This class is limited and offered on a first-come first-served basis. Mrs. Paulette Hughes, St. John’s professor and former middle school English teacher is excited to share her teaching experiences and her love for the writing process to our students. Mrs. Hughes will encourage her students to have fun and explore various writing techniques, name stories, comic strips, poetry.  The students will find their voices as they tap into their creativity and publish their own works.
