Notre Dame Academy - a culture of giving back

Our young women and girls have been spending the holiday season quietly working on helping others. From our food drive to our toy drive, we are trying to give back in little and big ways to our community. Our Thanksgiving food drives were very successful. The high school Principal Kate Jaenicke, led a caravan of 6 cars all full to the top with food items to be delivered to those in need this holiday season. Our elementary school worked hard at sorting and preparing their donations to be put right in the delivery truck for those in the community in need.

Our high school has created donations for the moms at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Our high school also took part in the Polar Plunge and raised over $2000 for the Special Olympics. The young women also were moved by the plight of the Saint Peter’s High School student who was injured during the plunge and raised money for his medical expenses.

In November, we were blessed with the young women who became Eucharistic Ministers to help do their part to make the holidays brighter through the body of Christ.

Our Elementary School, with Principal Rebecca Giaccio’s lead, sees each class adopting a cause for the holiday season – from Toys for Tots to Shoeboxes for Soldiers, each girl is focused on helping someone for the holiday season.

We each try our best to do something to brighten the holidays for those less fortunate and to find ways to give back to our community. Thank you for our girls and young women and their families’ for supporting the mission of Notre Dame Academy to better our community.
