Notre Dame Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Part-Time Physical Education Teacher to promote lifelong health, wellness, and physical fitness for students in PreK3 through Grade 8. The ideal candidate will create a positive and inclusive environment where students develop physical skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and healthy habits.

The Physical Education Teacher will design engaging lessons aligned with the New York State Physical Education Learning Standards while fostering an appreciation for physical activity and personal wellness. The successful candidate will support the school's athletic culture and encourage students to grow both physically and socially in a faith-filled environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•Physical Education Instruction: Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education instruction for students in PreK3 through Grade 8 that promotes physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and lifelong wellness.
•Curriculum Development: Develop and implement lessons aligned with the New York State Physical Education Learning Standards that address fitness, movement skills, cooperative games, health concepts, and sportsmanship.
•Student Assessment: Assess student growth in physical skills, participation, effort, and personal fitness while providing meaningful feedback.
•Safety and Equipment Management: Maintain a safe learning environment by ensuring proper supervision, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety procedures.
•School Spirit & Community Building: Plan and coordinate school-wide Spirit Days, Field Day activities, and other events that promote school pride, teamwork, and student engagement.
•Athletics Support: Collaborate with the Principal to support the school's athletic program, including coordinating athletic initiatives, events, scheduling, communication, and the continued growth of extracurricular sports opportunities.
•Collaboration: Work collaboratively with administrators and faculty to support school-wide wellness initiatives and interdisciplinary activities.
•Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, school events, and other responsibilities as assigned.

•A commitment to the mission and values of an all-girls Catholic education.
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field.
•New York State certification in Physical Education preferred.
•Experience teaching physical education at the elementary and/or middle school level.
•Knowledge of age-appropriate physical education curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices.
•Ability to create an inclusive environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and healthy competition.
•Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
