Welcome to Notre Dame Academy

Where Brave Beginnings Lead to Bright Futures

Before joining our community, future NDA students are invited to read Brave Beginnings, by Patricia Simpson, CND, the remarkable story of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys. Born in 1620, she was a pioneering educator, mentor, leader, and founder of the Congregation of Notre Dame (CND).

Marguerite was ahead of her time: she established one of the first non-cloistered religious communities for women in North America, journeying from Troyes, France to what is now Montreal. There, she walked alongside settlers, braving harsh winters and meeting families right where they were, teaching their children, offering hope, and building community. Do you notice a familiar spirit? That same mission, to meet each student where she is and walk beside her,  is alive and thriving at Notre Dame Academy today.

Our beautiful Grymes Hill campus has been lovingly cared for since 1903. It is a place where girls and young women discover their voice, experience a liberating education, and are cherished for their unique gifts. Rooted in our Catholic identity and the values of the Congregation of Notre Dame, our Notre Dame Academy community embodies academic excellence and transforming leadership. Grounded in our Catholic faith, we welcome students of all religious backgrounds. Every young woman is encouraged to deepen her spirituality and lead with justice and love.

Over half of our administration, faculty, and staff are proud alumnae or parents of alumnae. Their love for this school is woven into everything they do. I am inspired daily by their dedication and the incredible impact they make on our students. As members of the global CND Network of Schools with sister communities in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Africa, we share a rich legacy of liberating education rooted in faith, courage, and conviction.

Join Us

Prospective Families: We invite you to explore our campus, attend an Open House, or schedule a Gator for a Day. Our students and staff are our greatest ambassadors; once you meet them, you'll understand what makes NDA so special!

Alumnae: Whether you ran or played ball with the Green Machine or cheered or swam as a Gator, you are always welcome home. Reconnect at Homecoming or one of our many Alumnae Association events ; we love visiting with you and we love hearing your stories of success!

As we joyfully celebrate more than 120 years of liberating education, we look forward to our 125th anniversary and the exciting campus expansions ahead. With God's grace and St. Marguerite watching over us, we remain steadfast in our commitment to carry this legacy far into the future.

Welcome to Notre Dame Academy. Here, brave beginnings become extraordinary journeys!
