Kathryn Jaenicke Named President

Notre Dame Academy and the Sisters of the Congregation de Notre Dame are happy to announce the appointment of Kathryn Jaenicke as the next President of Notre Dame Academy, effective starting July 1, 2019.

Kate is no stranger to the Notre Dame community. As a graduate, teacher, parent, coach and for the past eight years Principal of the Academy High School, she reflects a deep understanding and appreciation of the charism of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys and Notre Dame Academy’s heritage of liberating education.

Having obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University at Albany, Ms. Jaenicke went on to receive a Masters in Literacy from St. John’s University and a Masters in Administration and Supervision from Fordham University. A native and long-time resident of Staten Island, she is well respected in the education community and has chaired the Staten Island Catholic High School Principals Council for several years.

We are confident and enthusiastic that with Kathryn Jaenicke’s passion and dedication, and under her leadership, Notre Dame Academy will continue to empower its girls and young women to become women of the Gospel, women of academic excellence, women of courage and conviction, and women of transforming leadership.

We would like to acknowledge with deep gratitude Sister Patricia Corley’s wholehearted and effective service as President of Notre Dame Academy for the past 11 years and to wish her well as she enjoys some months of well-earned rest. For their role in the process of selecting the new president, we thank the Search Committee, the Board of Trustees and Sister Carmel Caputo, its chair.
